Inspired Look: Blending Past and Present
Urban aesthetic wrapped in the shell of a country home. The home gravitates towards a little bit more modern style when it comes to furniture. The task was how to marry the two. The beginning palette was to soften things up and square things off where the tone to be set for a bit of a sleeker look,
The selection of furnishings that segregate the area into more convivial areas. One of the things that was very important was how do we carve the rooms to make it feel human scale.
The texture in a rooms is very important. Layered tactile materials such as mohair, jute, grasscloth, and alpaca, then juxtaposed those sumptuous items with more substantial pieces, including ai blackened and waxed steel cocktail table. Add a little bit of bling to everything, but with restraint here because it is the marriage of past and present.
Personal touches dot every room, each of which feature a graceful compilation of sleek modernism with organic element
This large, curved sofa features a stacked base and slightly splayed arms and is entirely upholstered in white upholstery. The stacked bases of each of the three pieces include metal brackets that help the sections stay connected, and the cushions are attached to the stacked bases. The depth shown reflects the total depth of each section; the approximate depth of the entire piece as shown is 78".
