Jo-Ann Lizio is a fine artist who was born in Peekskill, NY and now resides in Naples, FL. Ms. Lizio is classically trained and received her BS in Art Education from the State University College at Buffalo, NY. Graduate work culminated in a MA in Art from the College of New Rochelle, NY where she remained as Chair of the School of Arts and Sciences Art Department, Assistant Professor of Art for several years. Jo-Ann Lizio has garnered accomplishments with works exhibited in galleries in New York, Massachusetts and Florida as well as in private and corporate collections. Her work is also found in the permanent collections of the von Liebig Art Center, Naples, FL, the College of New Rochelle, New Rochelle, NY, and The Burchfield Penney Museum, Buffalo NY. Recent exhibitions have included solo shows at the Art Modern Gallery, Naples FL, Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center, Ft. Myers, FL, Deland Museum of Art, Deland, FL, The Flinn Gallery, Greenwich, CT, Florida Gulf Coast University, Fort Myers, FL and at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Washington, DC. Group shows include the Invitational “Florida Contemporary” at The Naples Museum of Art, Florida, the International Airport in Fort Myers, FL, and the Mighty Eight Air Force Heritage Museum in Savannah, GA among others. The artist was awarded First Place in the Vintage Aircraft Category EAA Air Venture Museum in Oshkosh, WI. She was also a featured artist in the Naples Museum of Art Annual Artist’s Studio tour for two years. “The element of the unknown is most important in my work as I believe art always has a problem to solve, an analysis, leading to an unknown conclusion. Each solution contains the next problem. I am challenged by this on-going adventure, which by definition is infinite.”
