The second sculptural figure in K. Hrabach's "Lost and Found" series,"Butterfly Queen". "Ever since I was a child, one of my earliest lovely memories was of butterflies floating over Aunt Mary's flower garden in southeastern Ohio. This garden was such a contrast to the view in the distance of a coal mine slag pile; but I was a child and it was all a wonder. The Idea for the piece comes for my fear that our beautiful butterflies are struggling to survive in this environment. I still wait every year to see the butterflies in my own garden and have noticed how few are returning. I am hopeful that this is temporary and the Queen will intercede". Dimensions: 21.5 H x 8" D x 13" W. Composed of a base with innumerable buttons, beads, and jewelry pieces.
